MySpace Mobster update

I finally had to quit playing MySpace Mobster. I even took it off my page. I couldn’t find a way to give all my money, property, and stockpile to my buddy who got me playing, like I wanted to, which was unfortunate, and I did enjoy playing. But, I’m just not much of a gamer and was finding myself spending too much time on it when I really needed to be doing other things.

The other reason why I took it off my page was because I thought it was a bit of a contradiction to have an ad to play a mobster game right next to a daily Bible verse. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s just a game and there’s nothing wrong with playing it, but I couldn’t help but feel a little dirty about looking to “make a hit” on somebody or do a mugging or commit a burglary. Even though it’s a virtual deal, I would feel better about killing off evil zombies or ax murders than doing the mob thing.

One big plus to blogging about MySpace Mobster is that it’s brought all kinds of traffic to my blog. So that’s been cool. For all you Mobster players, enjoy the game and thanks for visiting my blog.

Hi Alexis, I ended up deleting it from my applications on my MySpace page. It was fun, but as I mentioned in my post, I didn’t have much self control. I would find myself playing at 2:30 in the morning. With two small girls to run after in the morning, it wasn’t very smart of me :)

Ok here is the thing. It is just a game and like other games, this teaches you respect, loyalty, and defense without tucking your tail between your legs and running. Games are what keeps us thriving. You say that you felt bad for making a hit on someone then going and reading a bible verse????? Seriously??? Go ahead and read your bible verses, read them over and over again. Waste your life away on something that you don’t know is true. Or you can live your life to the fullest and still be a good person. This isn’t directed towards games, it’s directed towards that bible you have taking the place of everything that will make your youth, or any age, a memoral life. When you are 90 and on your death bed, what will you say? What will you do. This is your life. Not anyone elses. You only get one life.

Hi Punisher, Thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment. I wanted to clarify a few things. I’m not condemning anyone for playing Mobster or any other computer / video game. My son is a gamer, I just never really have been. The point of my post was that it wasn’t a productive thing for me to do. I found myself playing for hours in the middle of the night when I should have been sleeping. I have three kids to take care of during the day, a 15 year old, a 3 year old, and a 1 year old. That’s really hard to do if I’m sleep deprived.

As far as the Bible is concerned, I’ve lived my life with it and without it. Even if there’s not a shred of truth to it (even though I believe every word is true), my life is always better when I’m living according to the Bible. I’m not perfect at it by any means, but when I make an effort put God first, my life is happier and I’m a better person, a better wife to my husband, mother to my kids, and a better friend.

If you’ve never taken a look at the Bible, maybe you should take a peek and let it speak to you. Having the Bible, believing in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit has truly changed my life for the better. I have been blessed beyond measure and God has truly given me the desires of my heart.
