Birthday Party – Success!
I’m too tired to go into details right now (more later), I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came to Reagan’s birthday party and helped make it so special! And, I want to say I’m sorry to Miss Bergia & Miss Corrigan. Reagan was a bit aggressive, I hope she didn’t do any permanent damage and that you’ll both come play again!
Bath time….no fear
One of Hannah’s gifts from GiGi that she got yesterday was a Dora bath toy. She couldn’t wait to take a bath so she could play with it. I was surprised that she let me get her clean before she started playing. She didn’t even complain that Reagan was sharing her bath and her toys.
As for Reagan, you would have thought someone gave her a cup of sugar before the bath, she was so hyper. Always moving. She’s learned how to stand up and plop back down in the water, she would stand and put her hands on the wall then slide back down into the water, giggle and do it again. She even went under the water a couple of times (yes, I was right there to grab her if I needed to), would pull herself out, cough and do it all over again. It wasn’t very easy to get her clean, but we got the job done!
I hope this is a sign that she’s going to love to swim!

As of today there have been over 7000 views of my blog since I started in March. Thank you everyone for reading! I hope you will continue to enjoy it! God Bless!
The pee chronicles
This morning I changed Reagan’s diaper and put her down to play. She and Hannah are still enjoying the gifts Hannah got yesterday, thank you GiGi!
A few minutes later I look over and see Reagan climbing onto the recliner, and I noticed her butt was bare. Within those few minutes, literally just two or three minutes, she had taken off her diaper, and peed on the floor. Right after I changed her, the diaper was still dry.
I called Zale and told him I was ripping up the carpet. I guess there would be a problem with splinters, so maybe it’s not the best idea right now. One day I will, but I guess it doesn’t need to be today.
As I’m typing this, Reagan has appeared from her room, completely naked….what is going on today???? Excuse me while I go clean up more pee…..ugh!
The ketchup monster
You’ve heard of The Cookie Monster? We have the ketchup monster. Anytime we have fries, Hannah is more interested in the ketchup. She will eat a few fries, but then she moves on to the all important condiment. Ketchup. She’ll start by dipping one finger at a time, within a few minutes she’ll have four fingers scooping up the ketchup to eat it. Yesterday at McDonald’s she ended up with drops of ketchup all the way to her arm pit. She had fun though, so it’s okay!
Raining French Fries
Today was a very fun day. GiGi wasn’t able to be at Hannah’s birthday party, so she wanted to take Hannah shopping and to lunch. We met at Toys R Us this morning and had a great time shopping. Hannah is a wonderful shopper. She gently touched everything she saw that she thought was interesting and wanted to make everything make noise that she possibly could.
Hannah got to pick out a couple of toys from GiGi for her birthday and she had $10.00 that Granddaddy and KayKay had given her to spend. I have to say I was really impressed with her. I told her the amount of money she had, when she picked out something over that amount I just told her it was more than $10.00, she would say, “OK” and move on to something else. I hope it will always be that way! Probably not, but I can hope! She found a doll stroller that she wanted and has had a lot of fun with it today. Reagan has too! Hannah is being very nice and is sharing everything with her little sister.
I got a couple of things for Reagan since her birthday party is Sunday. It is nice that she’s still young enough that I can shop for her, with her there and even see what she responds to. GiGi was able to get Reagan’s birthday taken care of too.
From there we went to McDonald’s, Hannah wanted a Happy Meal. GiGi and I were able to talk for quite awhile since Hannah was busy playing with her new toys and Reagan was busy eating French fries. Towards the end of our visit Reagan was getting restless and had crawled onto the table. We had some fries left over that I put in Hannah’s Happy meal box. Reagan discovered a hole in the box and figured out she could get her hand in it. At first she would pull one fry out at a time and hand it to me or GiGi (usually GiGi). She soon got bored with that and began pulling them out by the fistful. Once they were all on the table she started picking them up and throwing them everywhere. Up in the air, over her shoulder, and in front of her. It was raining French fries. Almost like confetti at a parade.
I felt a little bad about the mess we were leaving on the floor, I guess they are use to it though. A manager came out and said how cute the girls were. When he heard we were celebrating birthdays he gave Hannah an extra toy. The girl racked up today! I know she had a great time and we are very grateful to GiGi for all she did and has done for us!!! We had a wonderful day!!! Thank you GiGi! We can’t wait to see you again!
Happy Birthday Reagan!!
Today Reagan is 1 year old. It’s so hard to believe that one year ago today, at this moment I was in labor. What a year it has been! I’m so blessed to have three wonderful kids and an amazing husband! I’m very thankful that Hannah accepted Reagan into our family right away and hasn’t really shown signs on jealousy. It’s so sweet to see them start to play and laugh together. I’m also extremely thankful that Anthony loves his little sisters and (for the most part) is so good with them. God is so good!!!
I have to say, I’m almost a little sad that this year has gone by so quickly. That my little baby is more of a toddler now than a baby. I know some things get easier as they get older, but I’m still going to miss them being babies. All three of them.
For today, I won’t think about how quickly they are growing up, I’ll just think about how blessed I am to have each of them and how blessed I am to be able to spend every day with them. And today, I’ll celebrate Reagan’s birth!
cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning
Monday night is our LifeGroup. I usually make Anthony clean his room since the kids that come over go play video games in his room after our group. But this Monday was a little different. Anthony had an interview at a local pizza place, and he got the job! I’m so proud of him!!
On our way home he asked if he could go hang out at our neighbor’s house before LifeGroup. I said yes, but that his room needed to be cleaned since he would have friends in his room that evening. He said they would just hang out with us and wouldn’t go in his room, which was really surprising. I’ll take what time I can get with them, so I agreed. I also told him that if he didn’t clean his room that night, I would clean it the next day. He usually doesn’t like it when I do that, so I expected him to clean it.
He called my bluff and didn’t do it. So Tuesday, late morning, I got started. I filled a whole trash bag (the stretchy kind) with trash and torn up clothes that couldn’t even be given away. I found socks stuffed behind bookshelves and in the back corner of his closet. I found towels EVERYWHERE, I found change all over the place. I should have kept it as my cleaning fee, but I didn’t. I found clothes that I forgot he had because they were stuffed behind a book case or in the back of his closet. It was just amazing. I did find half a bag worth of clothes that could be given away.
Then I remembered we had invited a family from church over for dinner that night. So I went from cleaning Anthony’s room to straightening up the house and getting dinner ready. It was a busy day, but I got almost everything done that I wanted to, it was a good day! And for a few days, Anthony has a clean room. I even did all of his laundry and put it away. I haven’t done that in a couple of years.
What made it all worth while was that Anthony actually appreciated it and said thank you. I think I may have even gotten a hug!
Sisters bonding….through pee….of course.
If you’ve read my blog before, you know that pee, for some reason, is a big issue at our house. I guess that’s better than it being poop!
Hannah is potty trained, but she still uses her little potty more than the big potty. It’s meant less accidents for her since it’s portable and she can carry it to which ever room she’s playing in.
I’m an only child, so I’m not privy to all the ways siblings will bond. I do wish someone had warned me, or maybe it’s just my kids that do it this way.
Monday morning both the kids were up and going pretty early. I was taking a little extra time to rest in my comfy recliner before really starting my day. Reagan had crawled to their room to play and I could hear electronic toys going off and her squealing or laughing every couple of minutes, so I knew she was okay. Hannah came in to cuddle with me for a few minutes, which was very sweet. I’ll take all the cuddling I can get from my girls!
When Hannah got down I remembered that her potty was in her room from the night before. I asked if it had any pee pee in it. She said, “ummmm, yes.” So I asked her to go make sure the lid was closed and that Reagan wasn’t in it. Off she ran to complete her mission. I know, I know, this is something I should have done myself, I was just hoping to steal a couple more minutes peace and quiet. A very short time later I realized it had gotten too quiet. I didn’t hear any toys being played with at all….panic set in as I jumped up and ran to their room.
Sure enough, instead of making sure the lid was closed, it was open, one child on each side of the potty. They were drenched with pee. Hannah was even taking both of her hands, dipping them in the pee and wetting Reagan’s hair with it. So gross! They both looked up at me when I entered the room and had huge grins on their faces.
They had early baths that day. The good news was that they hadn’t dumped the pee out on the carpet, so I only had to clean them!
It was pretty cute later that day, Hannah came up to me and said, “Mommy, I’m sorry we were playing in the pee.” We had a talk about the pee pee only belonging in the potty, I hope it sank in! I’m so tired of cleaning up the pee!
